Two dogs are better than one when it comes to reminding customers to call 811 at least two days before they dig. Brothers Waffles and Tacoma have been voted the next Minnesota Energy Resources safe digging ambassadogs.
These very good boys from Blooming Prairie will use their sweet smiles to remind customers to notify Gopher State One Call before they dig.
Minnesota Energy Resources customers and dog lovers cast thousands of votes in this year’s contest, with Waffles and Tacoma coming out on top.
Two-year-old Waffles and 11-month-old Tacoma love to dig so much that their humans had to build them a designated digging area in their backyard.
They’ll spend the next year as the stars of a social media campaign designed to remind people to dig safely.
In addition to digging, Waffles and Tacoma love to swim, play chase and protect their front yard from squirrels.
About 811
Digging can be dangerous if you don’t call 811 at least two days in advance. Whether you’re planting a garden or installing a fence, it’s important to have the location of underground utilities marked to keep yourself and your family safe. Notifying Gopher State One Call is easy, it’s free, and it’s the law.
