Minnesota Energy Resources recently presented Spectro Alloys in Rosemount with a rebate check for more than half a million dollars. The company installed two energy-efficient, natural gas-fueled furnaces with regenerative burners on their new aluminum processing line.

In addition to qualifying for a one-time rebate, the new burners will save the company more than 57,799 dekatherms of natural gas per year, significantly reducing their monthly energy bills.

Minnesota Energy Resources designed a custom rebate for Spectro Alloys through the state’s Energy Conservation and Optimization Program.

“We are proud to partner with local companies like Spectro Alloys and the state of Minnesota to improve energy efficiency and lower energy bills,” said Jennifer Kimmen, principal customer program manager. “This custom rebate project is just one example of the work we do every day to help businesses — both large and small — reduce their energy usage.”

Companies looking to install new natural-gas-fueled, high-efficiency process equipment, heat recovery systems, energy management systems or building envelope improvements are encouraged to go to the Minnesota Energy Resources website to learn more.
