On Earth Day and every day, Minnesota Energy Resources is committed to building a bright, sustainable future for the communities where we live and serve. One of the ways we demonstrate our environmental stewardship is through our charitable giving. In 2020, we helped fund organizations working hard to teach people of all ages how to take care of our planet.

Kids experience all that nature has to offer on the Tree Tops High Ropes course at Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center.

One of the organizations we are proud to support is the Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center in Lanesboro. The nonprofit increases environmental awareness through hands-on learning in nature for kids and families. We were honored to sponsor the center’s Banquet on the Bluff fundraiser last year.

In southwestern Minnesota, we provided a grant to Pheasants Forever, a conservation organization dedicated to the protection and preservation of wildlife habitat and clean water initiatives.

This summer, one of our grants will be used to help Spring Grove students purchase and plant native species to attract pollinators at Roverud Park. In addition to beautifying the park, it will give students a hands-on experience that can’t be replicated in the classroom.

Most recently, our employees chose to direct more than $1,000 in our foundation funding to the North Country Trail Association. The nonprofit relies on a coalition of volunteers and partners to protect and promote the North Country Scenic Trail as the premier hiking path across the northern tier of the United States.

These are just some of the organizations and environmental causes Minnesota Energy Resources is proud to support. To learn more about our charitable giving or to apply for a grant, visit our website.
