Minnesota Energy Resources employees care deeply about the communities where they live and serve. That’s why this quarter, employees chose to donate $2,500 to The Open Door, a hunger relief organization.

The donation is part of the Minnesota Energy Resources Safety Charity Challenge, a companywide program to encourage employees to live and work safely while positively impacting their local communities. Employees have the opportunity to direct a contribution toward one of several charities at the end of each quarter when safety goals are met.

This quarter, they selected The Open Door, which provides healthy food to those in need through a food pantry in Eagan, delivery services and a garden-to-table program.

In addition to the Safety Charity Challenge check, Minnesota Energy Resources employees recently donated their time to pack more than 500 snack packs, filled with tasty treats they purchased themselves. The snack packs will be distributed throughout the holiday season to make sure no kids go hungry.

The Open Door is one of dozens of nonprofit organizations Minnesota Energy Resources is proud to support every year.
